Ice Game

I would like to try THIS ice fishing game.

I have also seen where they make ice sculptures with colored ice and salt. I haven't gotten this to work. I should try it for a fun summer activity.

THESE felt bunnies at Chasing Cheerios look like they could be fun. I don't think a lot of kids get to sew any more but it is such a great fine motor skill.

Fish

I love the idea of playing THIS game then handing out THIS prize of a toy fish in a bag of soap.

Happy with Christ

Look at THIS! We could have a story to go with these directions (like Thee Lonely Boy story). The end could be how you are happy when you believe in Christ because he is in control.

Scratch Tickets

Last year, we had a drawing for the children who attended our Easter Egg-stravaganza to win entry to ART CAMP.

Wouldn't it be fun to make THESE scratch tickets so they could see if they won.

Window Clings

Clear vinyl, purchased from most fabric stores, can be used to make window clings. Students can trace simple pictures with black permanent marker then color them in with permanent marker or acrylic paints.

Then cut out the design and press to a window. If it won't stick, either the window is too dirty or too dry. Clean the glass and spritz a bit of water on the vinyl.

We did these for a Christmas activity last year. I believe we still have some of the materials left over for this year.

Airplanes

I purchased this small foam plane for a few dollars at the store. I traced the pieces onto foam and cut them out. I weighted the front with a paper clip. It flew well and would be fun to race inside for Easter.

I would consider getting thicker foam next time or using sticky foam and cutting out the pieces twice to stick to each other.

I will have the children trace and cut out the foam themselves. They could also decorate the plane anyway they would like. I will have the pieces cut out of plastic sour cream contains for them to trace.

Snow Globes

THESE snow globes would be fun to make and put in a rice tub. I would want to put things that remind me of spring in them. I would also like to find plastic containers. I would worry about small children breaking glass containers.

Rattle Rocket

This is GREAT for multiple ages. A bigger ball and bottle opening (like a juice bottle) works well too so the marble is not a choking hazard for little ones. This toy is too loud for the space we have at Easter with a marble but fine with the bouncy ball.

I should mention, the way to get the marble out! Turn the bottle upside down from the way shown in the picture and video then shake. The marble comes out more quickly and is easier to catch/control.

Racers

We tried this yesterday. I can't figure out how to get them to 'walk' up the string. Basically, who ever had the longer arms won because they pulled their strings apart faster. We made our little person out of a cereal box so he didn't rip. (A 3 and 5 year old aren't gentle.)

So when that was a bust, we tied the string to the curtain rod and the other end to the dining room chair so we could race across the room. TONS of fun!
